Occupational Therapist

Shift: Day Shift, Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with weekend rotation. Must work on Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day.

Job Summary

The Occupational Therapist plays a vital role as a member of the interdisciplinary team, responsible for developing, administering, and implementing therapeutic services aimed at helping patients regain their optimal level of function in daily activities, including self-care, leisure, and work.

Essential Job Functions

• Evaluate patients’ functional status and implement the physician’s plan of care.
• Conduct assessments and reassessments, making informed decisions based on objective tests and measurements.
• Communicate observations and treatment suggestions as a team member to ensure a coordinated care plan.
• Provide education and guidance to patients and colleagues as appropriate.
• Work both independently and collaboratively as part of the healthcare team.
• Recognize and protect patient rights, demonstrating empathy and compassion to those in distress.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all communications, coordination, and treatment activities.
• Adapt to emergency situations and be vigilant to changes in patients’ conditions.
• Support the organization’s mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures.
• Participate in mandatory education programs as applicable to the position.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

• Required: Graduate from an occupational therapy program accredited by the appropriate authorities.
• Desired: Evidence of continuing education relevant to skill level and practice area.

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations

• Required: Licensed in the State of Oregon as an Occupational Therapist.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Proof of automobile insurance is required.
• Preferred: Registration with the American Occupational Therapy Association.
• CRASE training may be required if the travel assignment exceeds six months.
