Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary: Deliver coordinated nursing care for patients according to established standards and nursing processes. Supervise and direct the activities of assigned nursing staff while coordinating care with other disciplines. Utilize critical thinking, professional discretion, and independent judgment in all tasks.

Education and Work Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN): Preferred
• Experience in an acute care facility: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications:

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the applicable state: Required
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor: Required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from an approved vendor: Required
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from an approved vendor: Required
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale certification: Required

Essential Functions:

• Collect relevant data pertaining to the patient’s health or situation.
• Analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses and care issues.
• Develop a care plan that prescribes interventions to achieve desired outcomes.
• Implement the care plan, coordinate care delivery, and promote health in a safe environment.
• Evaluate progress toward achieving patient outcomes.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare providers in offering patient care in a nurturing environment.
• Provide educational opportunities for patients, families, and team members.
• Directly communicate health information to patients and families.
• Participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
• Delegate appropriately and coordinate duties among healthcare team members.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
