RN – Critical Care Float Pool

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Critical Care Float Pool. The ideal candidate must possess extensive experience in critical care nursing, demonstrating the ability to provide high-quality care in various units.

Job Details

• Start Date: ASAP
• Duration: 13 Weeks
• Shift: Days (3 – 12 Hours; Only 3 shifts of 12 hours each)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

Key Responsibilities

• Float within the scope to meet facility needs across all critical care units.
• Manage and interpret telemetry, including the identification and management of dysrhythmias. (A test will be administered to assess proficiency.)
• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients with complex critical care needs.
• Utilize skills such as ventilator management, IV starts, and conscious sedation.
• Preferred skills include managing intracranial pressure (ICP) and pulmonary artery (PA) lines.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of critical care experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center.
• Recent ICU experience within the last year is mandatory.
• No first-timers accepted; candidates must have strong ICU experience.
• References must come from a direct supervisor, not a charge RN.
• Required certifications: BCLS and ACLS. TNCC certification is preferred.

• Academic/Teaching Facility Experience: Required
• Scrubs: Any solid color scrubs; light blue scrubs provided on unit.
• Charting System: Epic (HARDSTOP).
• Parking: Daily onsite parking costs apply, with additional offsite parking options available.
