Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our Step-Down ICU and ICU units. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in ICU settings, specifically at a Level 1 Trauma Center, and must demonstrate flexibility by being willing to float to Step-Down ICU as needed.

Qualifications

• Current Illinois nursing license
• Current certifications: CPR, ACLS, NIHSS
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; education verification is required
• Strong ICU experience preferred

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care for patients.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies, procedures, and standards of care.
• Document patient care accurately and in alignment with established standards.
• Develop, initiate, and execute an individualized patient care plan as prescribed by the physician and in accordance with hospital policies, including patient and family education.
• Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, potentially including shared governance initiatives.
• Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units or departments in support of the patient’s longitudinal plan of care.
• Utilize critical thinking to prioritize patient safety and enhance the patient experience, escalating issues appropriately through the chain of command.
