Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN)

We are seeking a dedicated Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) to join our team. This position is ideal for professionals who are passionate about providing exceptional care to women during childbirth. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will ensure the highest standards of patient care and safety in our labor and delivery unit.

Position Details

• Shift: Nights (3×12 or 4×12 hour shifts available)
• Start Date: ASAP
• Ratios: 1:1 patient care
• Weekend Requirements: Yes, except when scheduling specifies otherwise
• Floating: May float within the hospital, but not to sister hospitals
• Block Scheduling: Not available, unless indicated otherwise

Responsibilities

This unit is responsible for the care of adult women of childbearing age, including:

• Utilizing evidence-based practices to provide optimal care during labor and delivery
• Monitoring maternal and fetal health during labor
• Ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the childbirth process
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to execute birth plans
• Providing education and support to patients and their families

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of labor and delivery experience required
• Certifications: BLS and NRP are required; AWHONN Intermediate is preferred
• First-Time Travelers: Accepted with the required experience
• Epic Experience: Candidates without Epic experience will not be considered

General Information

• Guaranteed Hours: In the event of low census, healthcare providers may be called off without charge or placed on-call in 4-hour increments, up to one shift worth of hours in a 2-week cycle.
• Parking Costs: $85.15 per month for parking is required.
• Hospital Type: Magnet, Teaching Center, Level 4 Trauma
• Total Staffed Beds: 281
