Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in emergency nursing practices, effectively coordinating patient care in a high-paced environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to provide comprehensive care for patients.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments following established nursing techniques, policies, and procedures, as well as state practice laws.
• Documents patient care according to standards of care and organizational policies.
• Conducts assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation of patient care.
• Develops, initiates, and executes individualized patient care plans as prescribed by physicians and organizational policy, including patient and family education.
• Participates in departmental performance improvement activities and may engage in shared governance initiatives.
• Provides clinical expertise and guidance to other units and departments in support of the patient’s ongoing care plan.
• Employs critical thinking skills to prioritize patient safety and experience, escalating issues through the appropriate channels when necessary.
• Engages in the professional nursing continuum, participating in unit practice activities, decision-making, and peer review processes.

Qualifications

• Current nursing licensure in Wisconsin.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• Must possess either Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or Trauma Nurse Supervisor (TNS) certification.

The position requires availability for mid-shift hours and may include weekend rotations.
