Cardiac Device Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

The Cardiac Device Registered Nurse (RN) position is focused on outpatient clinic and peri-operative management for patients requiring cardiac device care. The RN will work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team to provide excellent patient care and support.

Job Duties

• Manage cardiac devices and provide post-operative wound checks.
• Conduct remote monitoring of devices and collaborate with the care team.
• Assist in planned clinic visits and manage device consults that arise throughout the day.

Work Schedule

The position typically requires working Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM with staggered start times. Shifts will comprise five 8-hour blocks, and there is no weekend or holiday requirement.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in cardiac device management.
• Valid BLS Certification.
• Must have Certified Cardiac Device Specialist (CCDS) certification.
• Preferred: Certified Electrophysiology Specialist (CEPS).

Clinical Environment

The role involves working in outpatient settings with 1-3 electrophysiology physicians and 1-4 electrophysiology advanced practice providers on average each day. The workload may vary with ongoing support from permanent staff members available at all times.

Equipment and Technology

The RN will utilize Epic electronic medical records (EMR) and Vector for device management, with training provided as needed.

Additional Information

• Orientation will be provided over 2-5 days, including time spent with a preceptor to ensure full competency.
• No floating or call requirements are involved with this position.
• Expected travel between multiple outpatient locations for necessary coverage.
