Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (PICU RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (PICU RN) to join our dynamic healthcare team. This position focuses on providing high-quality care to pediatric patients in critical conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients in the PICU.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
• Monitor patient vital signs and assess their condition regularly.
• Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
• Provide support and education to families regarding patient care and health management.

Work Schedule

This position requires three 12-hour shifts per week, scheduled as either consecutive shifts or split shifts, based on individual preference and unit needs. Weekend work is mandatory on a variable basis.

Floating Requirements

The PICU RN may be required to float between the Pediatric Medical/Surgical unit and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) as needed.

Patient Ratios

The expected nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2.

Qualifications

• Current nursing license and BLS certification required.
• Previous PICU experience is mandatory.
