Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Overview

Seeking dedicated and experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurses (RNs) to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will manage patient care, coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, and ensure a seamless patient experience in the emergency department.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive assessments and evaluations of patients in the emergency setting.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Manage and prioritize patient care for both adults and pediatric patients.
• Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Collaborate with physicians and mid-level providers to implement care plans.
• Participate in triage and manage emergency holds for patient admissions.
• Provide education and support to patients and families regarding health care needs.
• Adhere to all safety and regulatory protocols in the emergency department.

Qualifications

• Current RN license and BLS certification required.
• ACLS, TNCC, NIHSS, and PALS certifications required; ENPC and NRP are a plus.
• Experience working in an emergency department is essential.
• Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Work Environment

• Facility includes a total of 33 beds, with separate adult and pediatric areas.
• An estimated 70-85 patients are treated daily, emphasizing a diverse range of diagnoses.
• Staffing ratios are approximately 1 RN to 4 patients.
• Shifts include day, mid, and night options, with weekend and holiday requirements.

Additional Information

Unit/department-specific orientation will be provided to prepare for independent functioning. Uniforms are navy scrubs, and there is a strict policy regarding artificial nails within patient care areas.
