Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) for night shifts. The ideal candidate will demonstrate competency in delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in the Emergency Room, managing a diverse array of cases including cardiac, respiratory, oncologic concerns, neurosurgery, strokes, and trauma.
• Handle triage and management of ER holds, ensuring timely and effective care.
• Collaborate with physicians, mid-level providers, and nursing staff to implement patient care plans.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs and respond promptly to changes in condition, utilizing appropriate equipment and technology.
• Perform lab draws, EKGs, and coordinate with the radiology department for imaging needs.

Position Requirements

• Must possess a current RN license and relevant certifications, including ACLS, BLS, ENPC, NIHSS, NRP, PALS, and TNCC.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an emergency room setting.
• Experience with pediatric patients is strongly preferred; certification in pediatric readiness is required.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple patients simultaneously.
• Excellent communication, assessment, and problem-solving skills.

Work Conditions

• Scheduled for 12-hour night shifts, with a requirement to work every other weekend and holidays.
• Standard nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 within the emergency department.
• Prohibited from using artificial nails in patient care areas.
• Candidate must possess a valid driver’s license for compliance with a travel radius rule.

• Orientation will be provided, with necessary resources available to support successful onboarding.
• Security is available in-house to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
• The team utilizes EPIC for electronic medical record (EMR) management.
