Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality care in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate critical thinking, effective communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care to individuals with a variety of diagnoses, including stroke, brain hemorrhages, and acute respiratory failure.
• Monitor and manage patients experiencing a range of complex conditions, such as sepsis, acute heart failure, and acute kidney injury.
• Titrate intravenous drips based on established protocols, including norepinephrine, epinephrine, and dopamine.
• Read telemetry strips, responding promptly to any significant changes in patient status.
• Collaborate with nursing staff and clinical technicians to ensure patient safety and effective care delivery.

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed Registered Nurse (RN).
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required; cardiac experience is not mandatory.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• Ability to pass the ECG exam on day 2 of employment.

Unit Information

• 16 patient beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2.
• Two clinical technicians will be available for support.
• Staff is expected to work night shifts (7pm-7am).
• 1 major holiday and 1 minor holiday commitment annually.
• Scrubs must be navy blue.

Equipment and Monitoring

• Utilization of mechanical ventilators, high-flow nasal cannulas, and noninvasive ventilation equipment such as BiPAP/CPAP.
• No dedicated tele/monitor technicians; RNs will read their own telemetry strips using Phillips monitors.
