Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)

Shift Information

This position requires three 12-hour night shifts, with variable scheduling.

Job Description

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse is responsible for providing safe, effective, and high-quality patient-family-centered care in alignment with state standards. The nurse will collaborate with healthcare team members to develop comprehensive patient care plans while maintaining a strong commitment to confidentiality and the organization’s mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-family-centered care in the emergency department.
• Communicate effectively with all members of the healthcare team.
• Develop and implement patient care plans.
• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
• Act efficiently and effectively during emergency situations.

Qualifications

• Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Maine or valid Authorization to Practice pending licensure by endorsement.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required within six months of hire date.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience preferred.
• Excellent assessment, communication, computer, and documentation skills.
• Ability to function independently and make rapid decisions in emergency situations.
