Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality care to patients in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be a team player with a strong commitment to patient care and safety.

Job Details

• Unit: ER (Emergency Room)
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Experience Required: 2 years in an emergency department setting

Certifications Required

• ACLS
• BLS Certification
• NIHSS
• PALS

Shift Notes

• Shift Start: 1 PM
• Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts within a 4-week schedule (Fridays and Saturdays for nights; Saturdays and Sundays for days)
• Holidays: 1 major and 1 minor holiday shift required per year
• Floating: Potential to float between multiple locations; notification provided 2 hours prior to shift start
• Orientation: 3 shifts of floor-specific orientation

Unit Information

• Bed Count: 18 beds, including a fast track area
• Patient Ratios: 1:4, with ICU patients being 1:2
• EMR System: Cerner
• Respiratory Therapy: Available 24/7
• Pharmacy: Available 24/7 with Omnicell access
• Nurse Aides: ED Techs are either EMTs or aides from other units

Patient Demographics

This ER treats a diverse patient population, including correctional patients and those experiencing homelessness or indigent situations. It is important to note that this unit does not handle cardiac patients, as they are stabilized and transferred out.

This position must be the candidate’s primary job, and flexibility in scheduling is required. Teamwork and collaboration are essential attributes for success in this role.
