RN Charge Nurse (NICU)
Position Overview
The RN Charge Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is responsible for leading and managing patient care within the unit. This role requires strong leadership skills, effective communication, and the ability to collaborate with a diverse healthcare team to provide high-quality care to neonates and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations within the NICU, ensuring optimal patient care delivery.
- Supervise nursing staff, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback.
- Coordinate patient care activities, including assessments, interventions, and evaluations.
- Facilitate communication among team members, patients, and families regarding care plans and outcomes.
- Implement and uphold hospital policies and best practices in neonatal care.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance unit performance.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Previous experience in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is required.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a clinical setting.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and DCI/BVP.
- Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
Work Schedule
This position works a 3×12 schedule, primarily during night shifts.
