Acute Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Acute Travel Registered Nurse specializing in Labor & Delivery to join our dynamic team. This role involves providing high-quality care to patients during their prenatal, delivery, and postnatal experiences.

Shift Information

• Shift: 7 PM – 7 AM
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48
• Weekend Hours: Every other weekend

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional nursing care to expectant mothers and newborns in the Labor & Delivery unit.
• Monitor patient conditions, manage pain relief options, and support mothers throughout the birthing process.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to facilitate smooth, efficient patient care.
• Document patient assessments, care plans, and progress notes in the electronic health record system.
• Participate in ongoing educational opportunities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.

Qualifications

• Education: Valid nursing degree from an accredited program.
• Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience in Labor & Delivery, with a preference for those with travel nursing experience.
• Required Certifications:
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • STABLE Certification

Onboarding Requirements

• Iowa State Background Check clearance (Criminal and Child Abuse portions required).
• Completion of a 10-panel drug screening, including opiates.
• Mandatory reporter certification for both Child and Adult.
• Current titers for MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, and TB must be within the last 12 months.
