Medical/Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

The Medical/Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) provides patient care in a dynamic environment, potentially floating to various units to support patient populations. This role includes working both day and night shifts on a rotating basis. The schedule is designed to meet the operational needs of the organization, with efforts made to honor preferred shifts when possible.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in medical/surgical telemetry units.
• Monitor and interpret patient vital signs and ECG rhythms.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately.
• Educate patients and families regarding health conditions and post-discharge needs.
• Participate in departmental meetings and continuing education opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 12 months of permanent experience in the specialty.
• Valid Ohio nursing license or compact state license.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
• Must work at least every other holiday as scheduled.
• Completion of ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate assessment during orientation with acceptable scores required.

Shift Information

• Rotating shifts: Day shifts (7am – 7:30pm) and Night shifts (7pm – 7:30am).
• Shifts may vary to accommodate the operational needs of the facility.
