Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) – Outpatient

Overview

The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) provides evaluation and treatment for pediatric patients with speech, language, cognitive, or swallowing deficits. The role involves developing recommendations, crafting treatment plans, and delivering follow-up care both on inpatient acute floors and in outpatient settings.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of pediatric patients to identify speech, language, cognitive, or swallowing deficits.
• Create and implement individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results.
• Provide ongoing treatment and follow-up care tailored to each patient’s needs.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and therapeutic techniques.

Qualifications

• Current licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP).
• Master’s degree or equivalent postgraduate degree in Speech Language Pathology.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in adult inpatient acute care and 2 years in outpatient adult therapy.
• Experience with acute hospital settings, adult swallowing evaluations and treatment, cognitive evaluations and treatments.
• Trach and ventilator experience required.
• Preferred skills include expertise in speech and swallowing evaluations and treatments for neurologic conditions.

Work Schedule

Flexible availability for up to 5 shifts per week, with day shifts typically from 08:00 to 17:00 or 09:00 to 18:00. Weekend shifts are required every third weekend.

Dress Code

Business casual attire or scrubs, along with a white lab coat.
