Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary: Delivers coordinated nursing care for patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff, coordinating care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking, professional discretion, and independent judgment.

Job Requirements:

• Education and Work Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN): Preferred
  • Acute care facility experience: Preferred
• Licenses/Certifications:
  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: Required
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per policy: Required
  • Facility Specific License/Certifications:
    • AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS: Required
    • AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS: Required
    • AHA-PALS or ARC-PALS: Required
  • Techniques for Effective Aggression Management (TEAM) or TEAM-A or Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI): Required
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale: Required

Essential Functions:

• Collects relevant data pertinent to the patient’s health or situation.
• Analyzes assessment data to determine diagnosis and care issues.
• Develops a plan that prescribes interventions to attain outcomes.
• Implements the plan, coordinates care delivery, and promotes health and a safe environment.
• Evaluates progress toward attaining outcomes.
• Identifies outcomes for the patient or their situation.
• Collaborates with the patient, family, and healthcare providers to ensure safe and compassionate care.
• Provides educational opportunities for patients/family members and team members.
• Directly communicates health information to patients and their families.
• Participates in discharge planning to provide continuity of care.
• Delegates appropriately and coordinates the duties of healthcare team members.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
