NICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

A qualified NICU Registered Nurse will provide specialized nursing care to critically ill newborns in a Level III NICU environment. The role requires a strong clinical background and the ability to handle complex medical scenarios in a fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive patient care to neonates in a NICU setting.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, implementing appropriate interventions.
• Collaborate with medical staff to develop and execute care plans.
• Educate families regarding newborn care and health management.
• Maintain accurate patient records and charting using electronic health systems.
• Participate in unit activities and contribute to a positive work environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year of experience in the NICU specialty.
• Current certifications required: BCLS, NRP, PALS.
• Ability to float to similar units as required.
• Must be willing to work weekends, with potential scheduling adjustments based on unit needs.
• All requests for time off must be submitted at the time of application.

Work Schedule

This position offers flexible scheduling options, including 3×12 or 4×12 hour shifts. While the primary schedule will be established, the nurse may be required to adjust based on unit demands.
