Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team in the Medical Neuroscience Progressive Care Unit. This unit focuses on the care of medical neurological patients and is supported by a Centralized Cardiac Monitoring Department, providing essential surveillance for our patients.

Position Details

• Schedule: 3 days a week, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Rotation: Weekend shifts required
• Float requirement: Must be available to float across various facilities as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a progressive care setting
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Monitor patient conditions and report changes as necessary
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Utilize specialized skills in neuro care, including CVA management, external CPAP/BiPAP, TR band application, and Yale Swallowing screen

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required
• Experience in Neuro PCU is required
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIH are necessary
• Previous Charge RN experience is preferred, but not required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Unit Information

The 3 West unit comprises 30 beds dedicated to medical neuroscience progressive care. The unit is committed to delivering comprehensive care tailored to the needs of neurological patients.

Staff schedules are determined via a self-assisted system for 6-week periods using Optilink.
