Surgical Technologist

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to join our labor and delivery unit. The ideal candidate will be proficient in scrubbing for C-sections, tubal ligations, hysterectomies, and have a solid understanding of D&C procedures and MTP processes during emergency postpartum hemorrhages.

Schedule

This position features a varied schedule from 7 PM to 7:30 AM.

Responsibilities

• Assist in surgical procedures by preparing and maintaining the sterile field.
• Scrub for various obstetric surgeries, including C-sections and hysterectomies.
• Collaborate effectively with surgical teams during procedures.
• Maintain knowledge of emergency protocols and postpartum hemorrhage management.
• Ensure all surgical instruments and supplies are in proper working order and available for use.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience as a Surgical Technologist in the labor and delivery specialty.
• Required: AHA BLS certification.
• Preferred: NBSTA or NCCT certification.

Holiday Expectations

Candidates must be willing to work 2 major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day) and 1 minor holiday (the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year’s Eve).

Work Environment

The surgical unit includes 2 operating rooms and handles approximately 300 deliveries per month, offering a fast-paced and dynamic working environment.
