Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse delivers coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process. The RN supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff and coordinates care with other disciplines, utilizing critical thinking, professional and supervisory discretion, and independent judgment.

Job Requirements:

• Education and Work Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN): Preferred
  • Acute care facility experience: Preferred
• Licenses/Certifications:
  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: Required
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor per policy: Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor per policy: Required
  • AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS certification: Required

Essential Functions:

• Collects relevant data pertinent to the patient’s health or situation.
• Analyzes assessment data to determine diagnosis and care issues.
• Develops a plan that prescribes interventions to attain desired outcomes.
• Implements the plan, coordinates care delivery, and employs strategies to promote health and ensure a safe environment.
• Evaluates progress toward achieving outcomes.
• Identifies desired outcomes for the patient or the patient’s situation.
• Collaborates with the patient, family, and healthcare providers to deliver care in a safe and compassionate environment.
• Provides educational opportunities for patients, family members, and team members.
• Directly communicates health information to patients, families, and the treatment team.
• Participates in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
• Delegates appropriately and coordinates the duties of healthcare team members.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
