Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse delivers coordinated nursing care for patients based on established standards of care and the nursing process. The role involves supervising and directing the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff while coordinating care with other healthcare disciplines. This position requires the application of critical thinking, professional discretion, and independent judgment.

Education and Work Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN): Preferred
• Experience in an acute care facility: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: Required
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor: Required
• AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS certification: Required

Essential Functions

• Collect relevant data pertinent to the patient’s health or situation.
• Analyze assessment data to determine diagnosis and care issues.
• Develop a care plan that prescribes interventions to achieve desired outcomes.
• Implement the care plan, coordinate delivery of care, and promote health and safety.
• Evaluate progress toward achieving outcomes.
• Identify outcomes for the patient or their situation.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to provide safe and compassionate care.
• Provide educational opportunities for patients/family members and team members.
• Disseminate health information to patients, families, and the treatment team.
• Participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
• Delegate tasks appropriately and coordinate duties among healthcare team members.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
