Cardiac RN First Assistant (RNFA)

We are seeking a qualified Cardiac RN First Assistant (RNFA) to join our team. This position involves working primarily on weekdays with shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM and 11 AM to 11 PM, including on-call responsibilities as needed by the unit.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with chest exposure and closure during cardiac surgical procedures.
• Independently perform vein harvesting for coronary artery bypass grafting (CABGs).
• Contribute to Da Vinci robotic cases, if applicable.
• Possibly scrub and circulate during complex cardiac surgeries, such as CABGs, structural heart cases (e.g., Bentall procedures), minimally invasive procedures (e.g., Mini Aortic Valve Replacement), and heart failure cases (e.g., Impella).
• Participate in heart transplant surgeries, with prior experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Cardiac RN First Assistant (RNFA).
• Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
• Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• CNOR certification is required.
• Experience in telemetry nursing is necessary.
