Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA)

We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA) to join our team. This position offers a unique opportunity to work within a dynamic healthcare setting, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to provide exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will possess experience in cardiac, vascular, endovascular, and thoracic specialties.

Responsibilities

• Assist in various surgical procedures within the CVOR, General OR, and Transplant settings.
• Support surgeons during operations by providing assistance in procedures such as Aortic Aneurysm repair, Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG), and Carotid Endarterectomy.
• Perform responsibilities that require advanced nursing skills within the operating room environment.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including respiratory services and interpretation services, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Participate in call rotation and may be required to float within facility/scope of practice.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in RNFA or related specialty.
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and RNFA. Other certifications such as CSFA, NBSTSA, or NCCSA are highly preferred.
• Experience in Trauma Level I or II settings is preferred but not mandatory.
• Proficient in charting systems, with preference given to those experienced in Epic.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a patient ratio of 1:1 during procedures.
• Experience with specific surgical procedures such as laparoscopic surgeries, thoracotomy, and VATS (Video-Assisted Thoracic Surgery) is advantageous.

Working Conditions

• Day shift; 3×12-hour shifts from 06:30 to 19:00.
• Floating may be required within the facility and to the Main OR.
• Call required, including one weekend every four weeks.
• Pre-Approved Time Off policy allows requests for designated time off during contracts.

Patient Demographics

• Experience with adult and geriatric patient populations is essential.
