Ultrasound Sonographer

Job Description

This role involves performing a variety of ultrasound procedures in an acute hospital setting. The sonographer will be required to demonstrate competency in multiple specialties, including but not limited to:

• Abdomen: Aorta, IVC, Liver/Biliary, Pancreas, Spleen, and Renal (normal and pathology)
• Gynecology (GYN): Breast, Ovaries, Adnexa, Uterus, Pelvis (normal and pathology, including post-menopausal, transvaginal, adult, and pediatric)
• Obstetrics (OB): 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimester assessments, amniocentesis, complications, biophysical profile, gestational age, placental grading, abnormalities, and intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR)
• Neonatal: Congenital anomalies and neonatal head evaluations
• Superficial Structures: Abdominal wall, breast, focal masses, hematoma, scrotum/testes, and thyroid examinations
• Vascular: Carotid duplex, segmental pressure studies, and upper and lower extremity venous and arterial duplex

• Fuji Synapse PACS

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an acute hospital setting
• At least one completed contract in a similar role
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a full-time sonographer

Certification and Licenses

• ARDMS Certification in Abdomen (AB), Obstetrics (OB), and Vascular Technology (RVT)
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – must be AHA certified

Shift and Schedule

The position requires 40-hour shift work with potential call responsibilities. Flexibility to float to other units and departments may be necessary.

Dress Code

Personal scrubs and healthcare professional attire are required.

Additional Information

All candidates must arrive the Thursday before the start date to complete an employee health appointment on Friday. Ensure the start date accepted allows for timely arrival.
