Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

Delivers coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff, coordinating care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking, professional and supervisory discretion, and independent judgment.

Education and Work Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
• Acute care facility experience is preferred.

Licenses/Certifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice is required.
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor per policy is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor per policy is required.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from an approved vendor per policy is required.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from an approved vendor per policy is required.
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale certification is required.

Essential Functions

• Collects relevant data pertinent to the patient’s health or situation.
• Analyzes assessment data to determine diagnosis and care issues.
• Develops a plan that prescribes interventions to attain outcomes.
• Implements the care plan, coordinates care delivery, and employs strategies to promote health and ensure a safe environment.
• Evaluates progress toward attaining outcomes.
• Identifies outcomes for the patient or their situation.
• Collaborates with the patient, family, and healthcare team in providing patient care in a compassionate and safe environment.
• Provides learning opportunities for patients, family members, and team members.
• Directly provides health information to patients, families, and treatment team members.
• Participates in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
• Delegates tasks appropriately and coordinates duties among healthcare team members.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
