Emergency Room Nurse

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Nurse to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in emergency care and be capable of providing high-quality patient care across various age groups, including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide care for patients presenting with a wide range of complaints in the Emergency Department.
• Conduct thorough assessments and implement appropriate interventions based on chief complaints such as chest pain, respiratory issues, mental health evaluations, OB/GYN emergencies, sepsis, stroke, and trauma.
• Perform special procedures and manage critical situations, including but not limited to cardiac arrest, gunshot wounds, and head injuries.
• Administer medications, including blood products and IV vasopressors, and conduct procedural sedation as required.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including board-certified ED providers, charge nurses, and triage nurses, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain proper care and management of central lines and ventilated patients, and interpret laboratory results, including ABGs.
• Ensure adherence to isolation precautions and effective triage processes.

Qualifications:

• Current Michigan nursing license in hand.
• A minimum of 3 years of Emergency Department experience is required.
• Combination of adult and pediatric emergency care experience is mandatory.
• Demonstrated ability to manage dysrhythmias, administer medications and sedation, and provide care for trauma patients.
• Experience with Epic electronic medical record system is essential.
• Current certifications in ACLS, BCLS, NIH, PALS, and TNCC are required.
• Experience with patient-to-nurse ratios of 1:4-5 in previous roles.

• Must be available to work every other weekend.
• Our facility features a 27-bed Emergency Department designed to provide comprehensive care while striving for trauma designation and supporting a dedicated forensic nursing team.
• Scrub color will be navy blue.
