Float Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Float Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic nursing team. This role involves providing care across multiple units including telemetry, medical-surgical, and emergency department boarded patients, based on institutional needs. The ideal candidate will have charge nurse experience and strong cardiac step-down skills, although these are not strictly required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care and support to a diverse patient population across various units.
• Manage staffing needs, bed flow, and general coordination within small units as the sole RN.
• Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-6, depending on unit acuity.
• Collaborate with LPNs and CNAs to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Perform charge nurse duties in small units, including overseeing staff and managing patient flow.
• Utilize EPIC software for patient documentation and charting.

Shift Details:

• Schedule: 3×12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
• Start Date: As soon as possible.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license.
• Prior experience as a charge nurse is required.
• Experience in a US healthcare setting is required; Canadian experience is not considered relevant.
• Strong clinical skills and ability to adapt to varying levels of acuity across units.
