Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team in a high-volume L&D unit. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a difference in the lives of mothers and their infants.

Position Details

• Shift: Nights (7 PM – 7 AM)
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Experience Required: Minimum 3 years in Labor and Delivery

Unit Information

• Number of L&D Beds: 12
• OR Suites for C-Sections: 2
• Triage Beds: 4
• Postpartum Beds: 16
• Average Births: 160-200 per month
• Guidelines Followed: AWHONN for nurse-to-patient ratios
• Responsibilities: Performing own circulations and C-sections; floating to Mother-Baby unit as needed (rare)
• Required to Titrate Drips: No

Team Structure

• Charge Nurse: Not assigned patient load
• Support Staff: Surgical techs available on unit
• In-House Specialists: OB/Neonatologist and Anesthesia available 24/7
• Respiratory Equipment: Available (vents, CPAP, BiPAP)

Technical Requirements

• Monitoring: RNs required to read their own strips using Watch Child for monitors
• Certifications Required:
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • Advanced Fetal Monitoring
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Scheduling and Orientation

• Scheduling: Modified self-scheduling
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirements: Yes
• Floating Requirements: Required
• Orientation: Unit/Department specific orientation provided

Dress Code

Uniform: Royal blue scrubs required.
