Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers coordinated nursing care for patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process. This role involves supervising and directing the activities of various levels of nursing staff and coordinating care with other disciplines, utilizing critical thinking, professional discretion, and independent judgment.
Essential Functions
- Collect relevant data pertinent to the patient’s health or situation.
- Analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses and care issues.
- Develop a care plan that prescribes interventions to achieve desired outcomes.
- Implement the care plan, coordinate care delivery, and employ strategies to promote health and ensure a safe environment.
- Evaluate progress towards attaining outcomes.
- Identify measurable outcomes for the patient or their situation.
- Collaborate with the patient, family, and healthcare providers in delivering quality patient care in a safe and supportive environment.
- Provide educational opportunities for patients and family members as well as team members.
- Directly inform patients and families about healthcare matters.
- Participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
- Delegate appropriately and coordinate duties of healthcare team members.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Acute care facility experience preferred.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice is required.
- Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) from an approved vendor is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor is required.
- Hospital Fire and Life Safety (HLFS) certification is required.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from an approved vendor is required.
- At least two years of recent experience in the field is preferred.
Organizational Requirements
