Long Term Care (LTC) Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Overview
The Long Term Care (LTC) Registered Nurse (RN) position is essential for delivering quality care to residents in a long-term care facility. This role requires a skilled nurse to manage resident care, medication administration, and wound care while operating within a structured team environment.
Shift Details
- Shift Length: 12 hours
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirements: Every other major holiday
- Floating Requirements: First to float
- Scheduling: Fixed 12-hour shifts (7 AM – 7 PM), no self-scheduling
- Orientation: 2-3 shifts of unit-specific orientation
Job Duties
- Act as charge nurse while managing resident medication administration
- Perform wound care as needed
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team when necessary
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Long Term Care (LTC)
- Required Certifications: BLS Certification
Facility Information
- Type of Facility: Long Term Care
- Number of Beds/Residents: 26
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Matrix
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: 1:10 during the day, 1:19 at night
- Common Patient Diagnoses: Heart disease, diabetes, dementia
Additional Information
- No involvement in clinical duties apart from nursing responsibilities
- No IVs or titratable drips are managed in this unit
- No telemonitoring available
- Pharmacy services are handled off-site
