Long Term Care Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Long Term Care Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This role requires a commitment to providing high-quality care to residents in a long-term care setting.

Shift Information

• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Schedule: Every other weekend, day shifts, with initial floating responsibilities

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Long Term Care/Skilled Nursing Facility (LTC/SNF)
• Number of Beds/Residents: 26
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Matrix
• Staffing Ratios: 1 nurse to 10 residents during the day; 1 nurse to 19 residents during the night
• Common Diagnoses: Heart disease, diabetes, dementia

Job Duties

The Registered Nurse will perform the following duties:

• Act as charge nurse and oversee daily operations
• Administer medications and manage wound care

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Long Term Care
• BLS Certification required

Additional Information

• Physical Therapy available as needed; Social Worker available by designee
• No clinical involvement with on-site rehabilitation or respiratory therapy
• Oxygen therapy and portable concentrators available
• Pharmacy services are off-site with a medication dispensing system

Working Environment

Our facility emphasizes a clean and presentable appearance. Uniforms or specific scrub colors are not required but maintaining professionalism in attire is essential.

Orientation and Training

New hires will undergo 2-3 shifts of unit-specific orientation to ensure a smooth transition into their role.

Requirements for Time Off

Requests for time off should be submitted upfront, with a limit of 7 days for the contract duration. Additional time off will not be considered.
