NICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced NICU Registered Nurse to join our team in providing specialized care to newborns. This position requires a strong commitment to the health and well-being of infants in a high-acuity setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Monitor, assess, and document the health status of patients, ensuring all standards of care are met.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, while observing for any adverse reactions.
• Educate families on infant care and health conditions.
• Participate in unit meetings and continuous education to enhance skills and knowledge.

Schedule

This position typically requires night shifts, with a standard schedule of three 12-hour shifts per week. Weekend shifts may exceed every other weekend to accommodate unit needs.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year of experience in a NICU.
• Certifications required: BCLS, NRP, PALS.
• Ability to float to other similar units as needed, including potential full float experience if couplet care experience is verified.
• All requested time off must be included at the time of application submission.

Work Environment

This position is in an acute care environment with a total of 212 staffed beds. The unit operates with a focus on high-quality patient care and employs Epic for charting. Free parking is available on-site.
