Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing laboratory tests, including hematology, chemistry, coagulation, and urinalysis, to assist in diagnosing patient conditions. The role requires strong phlebotomy skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory tests in areas such as hematology, chemistry, coagulation, and urinalysis.
• Perform phlebotomy as required, ensuring adherence to all safety and health regulations.
• Utilize equipment including Sysmex XN, Vitros 5600 Chemistry, and Siemens CS5100 for coagulation.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of laboratory results.
• Collaborate with medical staff to ensure quality patient care.
• Follow strict protocols for specimen collection, handling, and processing.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field.
• Certification from ASCP or equivalent recognized body is required.
• Minimum of two years of relevant laboratory experience preferred.
• Must possess strong phlebotomy skills.
• Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, preferably Cerner.

Work Schedule

• Shift: Days, from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
• Weekend Hours: Required every other weekend.
• No on-call requirements.

Attendance Policy

• Second absence will result in a formal warning.
• Third absence may lead to contract termination, unless previously discussed and agreed upon.
