Registered Nurse – Step Down (Nursing)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Step Down unit. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients recovering from critical conditions, ensuring their safety and comfort during their stay.

Unit Information

• Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) with 16-10 beds
• Patient-to-nurse ratio: 1 to 4
• Types of patients include:
• Sepsis
• Heart Failure
• Hypertensive emergency
• Respiratory failure
• COPD
• Chronic kidney disease
• Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
• Substance abuse
• Encephalopathy
• Administration of Heparin Drips

Job Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patient conditions, implementing care plans accordingly
• Administer medications and treatments safely and effectively
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide individualized care
• Educate patients and families on health management and wellness
• Document patient care accurately and in a timely manner

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification

Additional Information

Mandatory holiday coverage is required. Travelers must work either Thanksgiving Day or the day after Thanksgiving, as well as either Christmas Eve and Christmas Day or New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
